While all kids may not need screening for TB itself, all should be screened for TB risk factors. Pediatric infectious disease specialist Prachi Singh, DO, FAAP, describes the local and global value of identifying patients with TB infection as well as TB disease, and explains why tests should be only part of the clinician's diagnostic toolkit. She covers when to test well-seeming children, pros and cons of available tests, what to do when results are negative but risk factors are significant, and tips for increasing compliance with lengthy treatments.
