Pediatric Musculoskeletal and Sports Medicine Conference 2025 (CME)

Description/Registration:
Pediatric primary care providers, physical and occupational therapists, nurses, and athletic trainers are invited to attend an interactive, two-day CME conference focused on pediatric musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries. The conference, hosted by the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals, will feature a combination of lectures, hands-on workshops, and interactive Q&A sessions covering the following topics:
 
Day 1: Pediatric Musculoskeletal Disorders
• Hip Dysplasia, Legg-Calve-Perthes, Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis (SCFE)
• Ultrasound-Guided Hip Injections
• Fractures for Primary Care
• Spina Bifida
• Botulinum Toxin Injections for Neuromuscular Conditions
• Assistive Technology in Rehabilitation Medicine
Day 1 will also feature multidisciplinary speakers and point-counterpoint case discussions.
 
Day 2: Medical Playbook Shaping the Future: Innovations in Managing Young Athletes
• Artificial Intelligence
• Female Athlete
• Strength and Conditioning
• Nutrition and Mental Health
• Schroth Physical Therapy
Day 2 will also feature interactive workshops, including motion lab technology and functional movement screening.

Accreditation
In support of improving patient care, UCSF is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
 
Designations:
ACCME: UCSF has approved this program for CME credit: UCSF designates this live activity for a maximum of 14.50 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
 
BOC: UCSF Office of CME (JA Provider #: 0000302) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers (ATs). This program is eligible for a maximum of 14.50 hours/Category A CEUs. ATs should claim only those hours actually spent in the educational program.
 
Interprofessional Continuing Education Credit (IPCE): This activity was planned by and for the healthcare team, and learners will receive 14.50 Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) credits for learning and change.
 
Physical Therapists: This course is approved for up to 1.45 CEUs by CPTA #25-81.
